Alfanzina lighthouse was built on December 1st 1920. The structure, upright in the extremity of Alfanzina Cape, consists of a quadrangular brick tower covered with tile, in the middle of a single-floor building covered with the same tile, where the lighthouse keepers live. The lighting machine is a 3rd-rate one, large model (0,5 m of focusing distance), producing groups of two flashes of lightning every 15 seconds. The lenses system is made of a couple of 130º lenses and makes a complete rotation in 15 seconds. The range of light, in a medium atmospheric transparency, is 30 miles and the geographical range, for an observer situated 5 meters above sea level, is 20 miles.
